Herbert Moore II

Herbert Lee Moore II was born and raised in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, to Herbert Moore Sr. and Barbara Thompson Moore. Growing up in the close-knit community of Tullahassee, Herbert experienced a childhood filled with friendship, family, and strong community values. In those days, it was common for families to have ten or more children, creating a lively environment where there was always something to do and someone to spend time with.

One of Herbert's fondest memories of growing up in Tullahassee was the sense of belonging that existed throughout the town. Children played freely, and it was not unusual to visit any neighbor's home and be welcomed with kindness, hospitality, and love. These experiences helped shape his appreciation for family, community, and the importance of helping others.

Herbert attended Carter G. Woodson School, where he completed his education and graduated. His family's legacy is deeply rooted in the community through ownership of the Bear Thompson Arena in Tullahassee, one of the largest arenas in the state. The arena has long served as a gathering place and stands as a testament to the Thompson and Moore families' commitment to preserving local traditions and supporting community events.

Herbert is married to Regina Moore, and together they have built a loving family with three children—two daughters and one son. Family remains at the center of his life, and he takes great pride in the accomplishments and growth of his children.

Today, Herbert is retired and enjoys spending his time farming, staying connected to the land, and contributing to the community he has always called home. Whether spending time with family, supporting local activities, or enjoying the simple pleasures of rural life, Herbert continues to embody the values of hard work, faith, family, and community that have guided him throughout his life. His story reflects the rich heritage of Tullahassee and the enduring importance of family ties and community spirit.
